I thought that I would start a thread to mention the great efforts some of the lounge angels put in.

Brisbane J

Lynda F

What an absolute angel. She welcomes every guest with a genuine smile and is always ready to go the extra mile to help with flight/seat changes. She has been at BNE for at least 4 years I can remember and have as recently as last night, contacted Qantas regarding her outstanding service.

Sydney J

Donna (?)

Mostly works on Fridays it seems, she as also an absolute gem in Qantas's crown

Sydney J

Grahame

Barman - I have interacted with this man across a bar more than anywhere / anyone else in my life. He remembers what I drink, often poured before I get to the bar as he has seen me come in. Great barman and outstanding service.

Melbourne TL

Senior Person there - can't recall her name :(

Outstanding service with changes to flights and seating. A credit to VA with her non stop commitment to service even at 7pm on a Friday night after a long day

Great that you are recognising good service - I have absolutely no idea who the people are in the lounges. I have virtually no need to interact with them. There is one bar staff that I recognise in MEL J but apart from that - nothing.

T2 QP.....Eastern European (?) lady behind the bar/food counter, very efficient, runs the place gulag style. In 4 years of Friday afternoon drinking - I think she smiled half & dozen times.

However, she was always ready with my drink & would knock the top off like she was throttling a chook in the backyard.

It is probably the first time the barman has been called an angel ;)

There's an older lady on the service desk of the SYD T3 QP who I really missed when I became a WP. She's always fixed up anything that I've needed, and if she couldn't fix it on the spot she'd ask me to take a seat and page me once done.

I do know the barman in the SYD T3 J lounge, but I usually go for the wines so haven't had much interaction with him. If they did start serving a better gin than Gordon's that would however change :)

Also worthy of a mention is the doorman on the SYD F lounge. Even if it's been a while since I've been in there, he always remembers me.

Yes I found that a little amusing when I joined you in the F lounge that time...

If he's the one with the lisp, he's onto it

I believe the SYD F Lounge doorman is Nestor he is fantastic! LAX F Hosts are the most amazing Qantas staff globally IMHO Frank, Cathy and most of all Giulio! Always always always going that extra mile! Also Tomas the Asian waiter in the SYD F Lounge. Just some of my favourites!

It's all about Carol and her coffee in the SYD T3 J Lounge. I even ran into her shopping at Woolworth's and she stopped to chat to me. She's delightful and is an excellent barista.

Don't know her name, but there's an angel in the Canberra QP who is superb. Super friendly and a smile that could light up a room.

I'm worried though. If I find out her name and let Qantas know how great she is, will she get a kick in the bum from management assuming that QP guardians only get compliments when they obviously let someone in with too many guests?

Maybe they're trained to be dragons, but some of them are just too nice to keep up the act.

I find they are all excellent at CBR but you don't want to be rude or a DYKWIA type. They see way too many of them and they can cut them to ribbons with a few firm words.

CBR J lounge are just amazing they bend over backwards to fix stuff for me (always seem to have issues in CBR!)

Lisa is my pick there. Again I write and nominate the QF Angels to feedback all the time when they do a great job. Positive reinforcement! I usually get a call back from QF saying they absolutely pass it onto the team members manager and it gets communicated and sometimes rewarded which is great :)

True, HVR. But I'm always very friendly with any and all service staff, hell I'm even polite to dinnertime call-centre types. 3 years of cough jobs at uni (cleaning offices, call centre work, collecting glasses in pubs, chucking bales of newspapers into trucks at 11pm-5am) is good grounding for not acting like too much of a wanker later on in life, when you don't have to do that kind of work any more.

Canberra check-in is amazing. There's always at least one QF ground staffer waiting by to tend to your every need. They actually go way out of their way to help you.

(anyone would think that Canberra Airport is full of key decision-makers that an airline like Qantas would be keen to make a good impression on...)

Totally agree, as someone who stood behind a shop counter for three years whilst at uni I too dealt with my fair share of coughs et al. Any and every body who is doing honest work is worthy of respect until they prove otherwise.

Most bar people in SYD and BNE remember me.

Graham is great and so are his offsiders in the SYD business lounge. Graham remembers what I drink and has it ready for me and the others remember my drink as well.

There is a young cutie (I think so anyway) who works in the BNE business lounge and she always serves drinks with a gorgeous smile.

You do realise the business lounge and the Qantas Lounge as close together? ;)

+1 - my first uni job was in retail, and having worked two boxing day sales, where shirts get thrown at you if not discounted enough (lucky I didn't work in electronics), it has given me good grounding to be nice - it's not that hard :-)

He's a gem. Last Flounge run on JQ35/36 he really was good value, we had Vodka and Orange juices sans Vodka, and Vodka and Oranges with triple helpings :)
He was fantastic and super friendly, a big thumbs up :)

Although he did snicker at Mal's use of a non Apple device. :P

I thought that snickering was coming from me?

Are we allowed to bring Virgin lounges into this thread? If so, Moana M from the Virgin Lounge in MEL is an absolute angel, welcomes me at the door with a hug and keeps an eye on my flights to see if she can help me out, she's saved my day many times fixing any problems.
