I can't recall this being asked previously, but if I book a two sector J flight (LST-OOL) where one sector is in Y, do the SCs accrue for the whole flight as J or as 1xY+1xJ?

I think it is sector by sector.
I don't have direct experience of a mixed J & Y flight but I do have direct experience of mixed J & W (PE) flights (PER-BNE-NAN, PER-BNE-VLI, NAN-BNE-PER & VLI-BNE-ADL).
Each sector accrued SCs and points at the appropriate rate for the respective class of travel.
This worked to my advantage in these cases as the flights as a whole were booked in PE.
It's a bit of a shame those opportunities have disappeared with the refit of the relevant DJ aircraft.

I've done MEL-BNE-LAX in the past on a PE ticket. MEL-BNE leg earned status and points of a flexi Y fare.

My money is on Y+J
I tend to agree with you. I might try it to see. The next question would be however, if that is indeed the case (1xY+1xJ) would the Y accrue at flexi or saver? I'm tending to think flexi.

Thanks.....while I was typing, you seem to have answered the question.....perhaps!
