good point. When I spoke to them, the first segment was confirmed immediately over the phone. I'll call them tomorrow to see if second segment can be ok'd.

SQ's local tel. no. in Sydney is useful 24x7 as calls get re-directed offshore.

I'm using SQ miles. What could I do to secure those TG seats using SQ miles?

Be prepared to call a couple of times. The experience of the CSO does make quite a difference. If you feel you don't get anywhere, just call back later.

Also, I find later afternoons work for me getting a co-operative senior person.

Recently I've been trying to get some waitlists confirmed as the pending flights were impacting on other flights. When I explained this to one CSO, they said "You need to wait until 12th December to see", on a different CSO two hours later she decided that she would ticket the flights.
Always worth calling to ask.

Fate is a funny thing sometimes.

Originally booked 2 x J savers on a 747 SIN - MEL leaving around midnight but managed to change this to the 777-300 departing at 9:00pm as we'd arrive in Melbourne earlier. Managed to lock in 12J/K as well so was fairly happy with the decision.

Just checked the itin again and looks like ther've swapped the metal around and now its the 747 leaving @ 9pm. Frantically called up SIA CS and was very lucky to snag 17 A/C upper deck (which were the original seats we had).

Looking forward to my first experience on the upper deck. So far looks like only 2 other people booked in on the upper deck (17 H/K) apart from us which should make for a nice quite overnight flight into MEL
