Yesterday, a B717 HBA-SYD in biz, the FA offered to hang up my jacket.

Today, a B737 SYD-HBA in biz, I asked for my jacket to be hung and was told ‘Sorry sir, we don’t hang jackets any more’.

What’s the expertise of others? Do QF hang jackets in business, or not?

Since July 2020 only had it offered to be hung up once on a PER-SYD Red-Eye on a 737(DT: 2355, AT: 0605) in about 14 J flights.

It was a no on MEL-ADL the other week (but a yes on VA).

Negative on my last 7 J flights..even for CLs as a particular CL seems to follow my 5pm SYD-MEL habits. I usually put it in overhead locker on top of my laptop bag.

Last trip with QF was informed they are not hanging jackets at the moment. It was a couple of weeks back.

Curiously, given the rationale, the FA placed my coat in the overhead lockers on this evenings MEL-SYD so kind of defeated the logic but tbh it doesn't bother me as if it's hung it comes back to you 20 min before landing anyway and has to sit on your lap.

Yes, although on the B717 when the offer to hang the jacket was made, the FA forgot to retrieve it, so it was given to me as were were standing about to de-plane. Perfect!

If its an official policy now, then that's fine by me. Most time jackets can sit happily on top of carry-on in the overhead lockers; except when someone decides to shove the bags in the overhead lockers about to try to cram their late-aboard stuff in.

That's it - it's either almost forgotten (especially after a wine or three) or too early so not a huge problem these days.
