Jakarta Visa on Arrival, is it easy?

Any experiences arriving into CGK with APEC please?
Not specifically with APEC, but on arrival you’ll be greeted by a huge (I mean huge) row of eGates. Anyone with an eVOA can just go to any of those and straight thru (BTW, there a spots along the way from the airbridge to immigration with “VOA” signage - walk past. That’s for people to pay on arrival.

To the right of the eGates are some manned counters - they shouldn’t be busy. There might be a dedicated line for APEC / other stuff?

If APEC is linked to your passport it could let you through the eGate anyway? You could try before going for manual processing (if neither is busy).

My experience is to get a VOA at CGK, as I can then spend my USD cash at a reasonable rate. And in recent times the VOA desk in T3 has rarely been busy. Also can't be bothered with all the bugs and hassles in the app.

In fact I'm travelling to CGK tomorrow (Qantas permitting), so I'll be heading to the VOA counter on arrival.

Yeah, if you went to use cash you have, but even at current rates, for ~$50 bucks it’s probably no biggy?

That’s been my observation on several times passing thru - to the point there might not be anyone around to take your USD.

What app?

The website is a bit funky but easier after the 2nd go.

I’ve done at least 3x CGK repositioning in 2 yrs and QF41/42 have generally run on time (mostly early into CGK!).
