JAL domestic SC earn

Hi all, I inderstand this topic has come up before and as discussed previously and per the QF earn table, the main determinant of the SC earn is whether the underlying economy class fare booked is a discounted fare or a flex.

Looking at doing a few domestic sectors in JP in September, there are some relatively cheap F class fares ($280 ow HND-ITM), which I presume will be ticketed as econ + first surcharge (though on the Jal website it just says tokubin1 typec advance purhase fare). Does anyone know how would you find out the undelying fare for the econ part of it and/or how much the above fare will earn? Thanks!

JL only have 3 fare classes on domestic flights, Y, J and F (other fare classes become available when booking under non JL codeshares and when there is an international connection). They manage prices by how the flight is booked and how far ahead.
They have surcharges for J and F. eg you can get a 'class J' seat for a 1000JPY surcharge at any point prior to departure (the JL check in area at ITM has a board showing flights that day and the J/F availability which is always changing as people move flights or pay the surcharge).

The main issue with domestic JL is that QF has the Y, J and F fare classes in the earn table twice with different levels for "discount economy" and "economy", with nothing to indicate what is considered which.
Business class Oneworld tickets such as DONEx's and DASnn's are counted as "J (Economy plus Premium Surcharge)" and earn at premium economy rates (which is cough given you had booked a business class ticket)

Makes sense. But what if you book an advance F fare on the JAL website (i.e. search for first class only), does QF still recognise that as a discounted Y + F surcharge?

The did for me from Okinawa to HND last month. They gave me 30 + 90 = 120SC

Yes.
Only these 3 fares are considered as Full Y+F surcharge.

Yep, or domestic F flights as part of a full F international itinerary.

Not revealing my sources, but I know for a fact how manual and rubbish the points/SC crediting process is for partner airlines. Basically, the partner airline sends Qantas a flat file (i.e. an excel csv file), and Qantas just sucks that in. Often, the partner airlines don't enter the data into the excel file (eg. typos, spaces, numbers saved as letters etc), and the load into QF system fails for MANY records. As we have all experienced, even with their own airline Jetstar, they often get this wrong. Then, weeks or months later, the annoyed FF member calls Qantas and queries the points. Because Qantas cannot verify against what the partner airline sent them, they need to go by e-tickets and in my case, a screenshot of the QR-code boarding pass that was on my iPhone!
