Aero routes have noted JAL have updated GDS schedules with a Melbourne service reduction and planned aircraft changes to the Sydney service going ahead :

Tokyo Haneda – Sydney Initially filed 787-9 instead of 777-300ER during following periods remain unchanged: 01MAY25 – 31MAY25, 01AUG25 – 31AUG25

Tokyo Narita – Melbourne eff 30MAR25 Reduces from initially filed 7 weekly to 4 weekly (3 from 02MAY25), 787-8

Looks like the A350-1000 will be doing SIN-HND for a couple of months too. Another option for trying the new J and F.

My brother lucked out. I convinced him to go the long way home from HND via SIN because JL F was available (and connecting onto the Finnair Bird to Sydney).

Now he gets the a35K on the route.

So does this mean the aircraft change doesn't impact flights in May, Haneda to Sydney?

The 767 option turns around after almost 24 hours on the ground?
Negative.
Based on recent examples, the 767 that came down as JL35 HND-SIN turns around to become JL712 SIN-NRT, some 1.5 hours later.
On the opposite end, JL711 NRT-SIN turns around to become JL38 SIN-HND, almost 2 hours later.

The notice advised on AeroRoutes only references the HND-SIN pairings.

tldr: The 767 operated flight from HND goes back to NRT a couple of hours later.
