if LAN cancels will we be put on QF?

LAN cancelled the flight from SYD - AKL in Aug and all those on LA800 were put onto Air NZ. Only those booked on a QF ticket were put on QF.

Not necessarily, my la800 got canceled in sept, I was re-booked on a air nz late afternoon service in J, not willing to wait that long so LAN supervisor at syd tried to get me on QF flight but no J available only Y.
When I asked why do you use air nz over Qantas, he said all depends on which airline has bulk of capacity so they can fit all effected pax on 1-2 flights (not split offer many flights)and in most cases he said QF always had low available seats whereas air NZ had a lot of spare capacity..

In the end I got them to rebook me the next weekend on la800 again they did that no problems..

I have two travellers with me, but can only take one in.. (Will ask the Lounge Angels if an exception can be made..

27 Jan QF10 SIN - MEL, can guest at SIN although not sure which lounge (WP or First depending on the whim of the Points Upgrade Fairy).

13th Jan - BNE xMEL PER... Flights at 3:55pm so will probs be there an hour or so before. Can guest two maybe three (depending on whether SWMBO comes to see me off) into DJ.

23rd Jan - PER BNE... Red-eye can guest three will probs be there a couple hours before, maybe more depending on how early I arrive after work

I've shifted flights, didnt feel like dealing with the red-eye.
Now leaving PER at 12noon via MEL.

Will be in VA lounge from around 10:30ish probably.
