On returning we shared a pizza in our suite and then we went to sleep.Awoke just in time to go to trivia where once again we came in first.Has been a great team.

I then surprised myself by once again winning at putting-though the entertainer taking the golf to day pointed out the 3 times I have been there with her are the 3 times I have won.A lucky charm but I don't think I can take her home.
It has been a cold bleak day.Time to say goodbye to Edinburgh.hopefully back one day for the Tattoo.

Is that a Gormley sculpture there

All those oil rigs reminded me of a rather funny little film called 'Local Hero' made maybe 30 years ago. Set in a wee Scottish village around the time of discovery of North Sea oil. Starred in a small role Burt Lancaster. Large US oil company wanted to establish a port and instead of the giant winning over the hicks, the locals were all very canny and took them to the cleaners. The soundtrack was by Mark Knopfler. You may be able to find it on Netflix. Very much enjoying following your travels

Great movie and I listen to the soundtrack regularly - Going home is one of my favourite songs

Indeed it is.The sixth in a series from the National Gallery to the sea at Leith docks.

I also remember that movie from the time of it's original release.

We had dinner with another Aussie couple,a couple from England and another from the USA.vigorous discussion and suddenly we realised it was nearly 11 pm and only a couple of others still in the dining room. The menu.

Day 14 and we awake as the ship is in the very wide Thames river mouth. It is a really interesting cruise up the river.Naturally today the weather is overcast and breezy. The info says it is 17C but the real feel is probably half that.
