Japan ESTA (JESTA)

I saw the headlines recently then stopped looking when I saw 2030.

There will be many government deliberations before it'll be implemented.

That's always a good thing to do. Suprised it isn't already.
I’m not. Knowing Japan it would have to be faxed, backed up on floppy disc, manually checked against paper database and then Morse coded the rejection back to the airline…
Too much effort

Sometimes the JP government just wants an excuse to do something.

I honestly think its just them wanting to levy more tourist money than any true "safety" issue. You'd be flagged in the system if you had any problems as it is.

Anyone trying to do a dodgy and working on tourist visa on arrival is going to lie about it anyways.
