These pop up every few months, unsure if already been posted..

Purchase ticket to Japan (NRT) and receive free return ticket on most days between 17th April 2017 and 30th June 2017.

Have done it before, on the Jetstar Dreamliner so it was quite nice.

An example once you add in all the costs for me from the Gold Coast comes to $451 return incl. seats, baggage, entertainment etc.

Normal fare is $349. If you add on the qantas points bundles each way, it comes out to be $529 return.

Japan Return for Free | Jetstar

After vowing to avoid Jetstar wherever possible, I actually ended up booking one of these. Will go in February with my cousin (who convinced me to go with her - otherwise I probably wouldn't have even considered it).

We managed to find Cairns to Osaka for $249 return. Didn't add any extras. I guess I can't complain about the price!

I'm always a little weary of these kind of sales because if you need to make any changes to the return flight, you'll be up for a pretty hefty fare difference (considering you originally paid $0). I also find that you can get similar prices for return flights during regular sales - the outbound fares are always full price during this kind of promo.

Feb is a great time to visit Japan, avoiding the peak season a few months later during Cherry Blossom In April/May. You'll still have plenty of snow about too if you head north of Osaka.
CNS > KIX is 7.5 hours, which is just bearable.
Hopefully you might get a J upgrade offer 2 weeks out.

Yes the upgrade was worth the $199 each we paid on a July 2016 flight from CNS to NRT, food was surprising tasty and of a reasonable portion size , and complementary beer and the wine were very enjoyable!
Finally the Jetstar Cabin Crew in Business were caring and Pleasant :)

Just noticed this thread ...

Yes, I actually got my booking in for first week of May next year. The first week sees a number of annular cultural events.

Anyway, from Sydney, the return for me was just on $700. ( with Jetstar Starter Package ).

Sydney - Cairns - Narita. Vs Versa.

Seems like Gold Coast was the best value departure.
