Lots of restaurants in Jewel, I went to Dian Xiao Er for their roast duck 😍

When I was leaving, one of the girls asked: "How today food?"
Try say this with the Singaporean accent....took me 2 mins to figure out what she said 🤣

Skip lounge as it's a very early flight.
But I regret it very soon 😖

Continental breakfast :(, oh dear.
This might be better than @Justinf 's jaffle, but seriously, wtf?!

Two hours later I was hungry, this was what they gave me:

Out of the 3 airlines this time, CI catering was by far the best.

That's it for this TR.

I'm booked for #11 in November, let's hope everything is back to normal by then.
Haven't done a lot of planning, but probably going to the San-in coast, plus Mie.
I do change things around a fair bit during planning stage, so we shall see;)
Thanks for a very interesting and informative Trip Report. Much appreciated.

Great TR - you are a much, much braver traveler than I. I cancelled the Japan and Taiwan legs of my RTW about a week ago. I'm beginning to recognise myself as a bit of a hypochondriac and I just wouldn't be able to enjoy myself in those environments. Another time - and I'm loaded up with good ideas, now, thanks! :)

Thanks for the TR, it was very enjoyable :) Plenty of delicious food!

Japan TRs are always worth reading. This one definitely was. Thanks for all the information.

Landed at SIN about 6.30pm.
I could have taken an overnight flight and got back to MEL in the morning, but....6.5 hours is very awkward, you can't have a proper sleep, also I am not a fan of SQ's supper service 😖
So I chose to stay one night in Yotel Changi instead.

It was a long walk from T2 to Jewel...

I was curious about Yotel...

The room sorry cabin was TINY.
I knew that beforehand of course, being in it was a different matter!
Listed size is 10 sqm, I have my doubts though...
The reclining bed doubled as sofa ;)

Bathroom was surprisingly decent size.

Only other piece of furniture, if you can call that, was a foldable stool.

Different 🤔 workable for one person I guess.

Well that was a great TR with interesting places and food. I've spent all of about 4 days in Japan so I need to go back and do it properly. Many thanks 🥂
2023 Ashes in the UK could be the perfect opportunity to do a few weeks on the way home.

Excellent TR - many thanks - you seem to get to different places.

Oh I strongly recommend Japan to everyone;) It is a marvellous country with so many things to see....not to mention the food!

With the virus, things are changing so quickly... Must confess I probably will cancel if I'm booked to go in say, early April for the Sakura. Back then it was just mainland China or so I thought.
Now that Pandemic has been declared I'm not going anywhere o_O
We'll see how things turn out.

Ah yes, suppose I was travelling with mother probably would try to fly direct from TPE.
The SQ overnight between SIN and MEL is a killer though! Last time I did it, wiped out the whole morning in Singapore. I was so dead, beg hotel to let me check in at 9am and went straight to bed...

Thank you for such an enjoyable trip report. It really confirms for me that Japan and Taipei are a must see.
