Hmmm... I just spent 20 minutes trying to find any JASA from now until May. the minium points required fo MEL/HGK/MEL seems to be 144,000 points.

Remember that you won't see the absolute minimum points eg 60,000 in the initial display as it will display the classic level based on nil cash input by you. What you do is select those flights by checking the radio button next to the corresponding flights which may show a points amount of eg 85,587 MEL/HKG & 82,123 HKG/MEL for the Business Saver fare.

After selecting these flights & continuing to the next stop it will show you points required of 167,711 however this is the all inclusive nil cash payable option. You will then be able to use the slider & scroll right back to the minimum points required which is 60,000 each way so return it would cost you 120,000 points pp plus AUD530.54 pp.

You'd earn 20,682 points being SG which includes your cabin & status bonus plus 240 credits.

In my opinion where a JASA to Hong Kong comes into its own is when you can make use of the Status Credits attached.
Even better when you can find a JASA that goes MEL/SYD/HKG and returns the same way for 320 Status Credits.
Points reduce to 60,000 each way with payment of $600. :D

Just experienced something weird...

If you pick a date, the points required for the other leg changes..............

I think the outbound points is always different slightly to the return, however they both come down to the base points of 60K each way.

ah ok, never seen it before with cash fare.

But the points change a lot!!! e.g. one was 105k before then became 572 after..... even if you bring that down to 60k, i would imagine a big top up is in order....

I didn't think you meant the amount changed by hundreds of thousands as that would be way too unviable. I was referring to sometimes the outbound & inbound points may have differed by one or two thousand points.
