Jetstar 787's coming back?

When I flew out of Brisbane yesterday there were two Jetstar Japan A320's sitting outside the Qantas hangar. Aside from the rego there probably isn't much to change so I guess they'll be in operation soon.
They are about to undergo engineering and other. At this stage entering service last week Sep and early October for the other. Bit of a wait yet.

I wonder if there will be any identifying features that giveaway those two aircraft.

Unlike the Jetstar Asia fleet, the Jetstar Japan fleet has exit signs, instruction stickers (eg "Lifevest under-seat") written bilingually in both English and Japanese. I guess during this time those will change?

JQ should consider decking them out in a special Olympics theme, similar to the Hello Kitty aircrafts...

Do they need to change them? I’d have thought they’d be left until worn out? So they may eventually change over time, but those stickers seem to last an awfully long time in terms of “natural” wear and tear……

As for Jetstar's 787's coming back, they're now being taken away (due Covid).

I received an email from JQ advising that my CNS-SYD 787 flight had been cancelled, and I'd been transferred to a 320 leaving 5+ hours earlier.

Needless to say I cancelled for a voucher.

Just so you know, if the change is +/- 3 hours, you're entitled to a full refund.

Unfortunately, I don't think so in this case, as the booking was made with a voucher from a previous cancellation.

Ah, right you are. They'll refund to your method of payment - in this case a voucher and not cash.

JQ resumed HKT today but flight departed almost 5 hours behind schedule:

Are people actually able to enter coughet now? Without quarantine?

Looks like it according to the Thai Embassy link on the JQ website:

Seems to be some conflicting info:

"However, as of this week, Australians are only allowed to travel into coughet under the Thai Government’s ‘sandbox’ scheme, and will be required to quarantine for seven days.

The previous ‘test and go’ system, which allowed for quarantine-free travel for those with a negative COVID-19 test result, has been put on pause."

By the sounds of it, can quarantine in the resort but cant leave?

How does Jetstar plan to fill 5 high-density Boeing 787s per week to coughet if passengers have to quarantine for a week after they get there?

Actually it might have resumed Jan 11 for the test and go system. A min 7 night stay is required.

But 5 X weekly 787 seems a lot, particularly as for JQ coughet is a price sensitive market.

The coughet sandbox is not really quarantine, you just have to stay on the island for 7 days before departing to elsewhere in Thailand. You need to be based at an approved hotel but can go anywhere within coughet including on cruise excursions etc. I can see it appealing to the JQ Bali crowd.

I think sudoer is on the money. Even if you were restricted to quarantine in a hotel… 7 days by the beach in a resort? Not too shabby!
