Jetstar Asia scraps Darwin Singapore route

From experience JQ usually just refund if they suspend a route
You'd be surprised.

When the MEL-SIN flights were reduced a few years ago they rebooked those onto QF. I've had a few JQ domestic flights cancelled and rebooked on to QF as well plus a OOL-NRT that was rebooked BNE-CNS-NRT due to a reduction in flights (many times they've been more flexible then QF about this).

The JQ conditions of carriage even has a section about discontinued routes:

It's far from ideal but the DRW-DPS-SIN option (and vv) does appear on the JQ website (although I think a retimed 3K flight from DPS to SIN may require a night in DPS after 1 September).

The flights to Asia from here are so bad at the moment, recently an NT govt delegation had to fly Darwin to Sydney, then to Bangkok, then finally to HCMC.

The next available revenue ticket Darwin to Singapore direct is January 19 !

Wow I wonder if SQ would think about a larger aircraft or at least going daily

I believe SQ is increasing to 5x weekly sometime next year. That's still not really enough.

I flew DRW-SIN a couple of weeks ago and it was completely full in Y. 4/10 in J though.

SIA went from 7 a week down to 3 at about the same time Jetstar Asia pulled out.

We're in Singapore an extra two days in January because of the schedule change. (Not stuffing around with Jetstar and a connection in DPS + another visa fee)

Looks like it's 5 a week July and August next year with our tourist dry season.

Posts about a potential new QantasLink DRW-SIN service have been moved to the thread on that topic:
