A really important distinction here between airlines. If you fly Qantas Group airlines regularly, you know the precise point (where the plane turns off the runway during “the arrival”) when you can turn on your mobile communications device, making productive use of the taxi time.JQ are not ultra-LCC in terms that they do use Aerobridges
At check-in, yes. I have witnessed people repacking to get to the correct weight. (I don’t think this is purely the domain of “the LCC” anymore though.) Oops, that's weight not size.Has anyone noticed/found if JQ are tough on Oversized-Bags?
If flying on an "a’ la carte menu airline" regularly, you do appreciate the choice. (I realise this means you have to Buy On Board, rather than get it pre-paid as part of a bundled ticket price.) P.S. more hot food options, including actually stocking pies on flights if you advertise it, JQ.There was a time where it felt like every Friday evening BNE-SYD flight QF served butter chicken. Thank God I have not see it for a couple of months now. It has gotten to the stage where I look at the writing on the meal container before I have been served hoping that it is not butter chicken.
Just worth noting, that since earlier in the year, JQ will check you in way before the 2 hour mark (at terminals where some sort of representative is available prior to that time) when travelling without checked bags. This, combined with a 10kg cabin bag limit, use to make JQ a very attractive airline, until the new idiot CEO. (My bitterness will probably disappear, once I work out a new strategy to get me seated back where I like, or fly another airline.)The 2 hrs for JQ is part of the LCC model that has been setup.
