Jetstar flight (on British airways ticket) confusion

Bit confused - I'm flying to London from the Gold Coast on Christmas day. All the flights (including the Gold Coast to Sydney leg on Jetstar) were booked via British Airways.
My question Re these - will Jetstar check my bags through to London or will I have to collect in Sydney and recheck at the international airport?
Is 2 hours enough to land, collect my bags at domestic, transfer to international and recheck and get through security etc at the international airport and still make my flight to London?

Is it possible to change OOL-SYD to a QF flight? I’d be concerned about that combo.

If JQ won’t check thru luggage (I personally don’t know if they do) but if they don’t you’ll have to self transfer with luggage from SYD T2 to T1 (train would probably be best).

2hrs will be tight. Even if they do thru check, 2 hrs is still tight.

Edit: unless you happen to be on a domestic leg of a JQi flight between OOL and SYD T1!

I’m surprised BA even sell that. If I squint, I can see BA to/from JQ in SIN (JQi are supposed to check through) but JQ domestic to international is problematic.

There is a specific MCT line for it (JQ to BA DI), it’s 2:00.

None on Christmas Day and I think JQ no longer operates B787 international flights out of OOL

Nothing connects to or from JQ domestic (Australia). It’s simply not done, every bag goes to the carousel regardless.

This has been their policy for 20 years. The policy is different for international.

HLO is the only way to even try this with any sort of confidence that it may succeed. From gate in T3 to check-in or border control in T1 in 45 mins is doable using public transport or Uber/taxi in normal conditions. Of course, this presumes that the incoming flights in OOL is on time - if not, the beautiful plan is shaky.

JQ seems to have four other flights scheduled before yours. Definitely worth changing to an earlier one, if possible. In a similar situation, I'd look at the 7:05 and 8:30 departures as the realistic ones, 10:15 is already too late because it leaves zero room for cancellations.

Spending time at the airport or in Sydney on Christmas Day morning will be quite limited. But once you've checked your bags onto your connecting flight, you could head out to Wolli Creek and walk from there along the Cooks River. Makes for a nice little leisurely outing and keeps you in daylight and body in motion before sitting down for the longer flights.

Thanks for the good advice Ive managed to change the flight from OOL but had to get the 10.15 as the others weren’t available. If it cancels Ill have to try and get the 11.55 and hope they can get me on the later London flight via Doha. At least we are 6 months out and things can be changed - they have already cancelled 3 of my flights and this has meant Ive had to extend my trip by 2 days. Oh dear never mind. First world problem I suppose.

With what i had to pay to change the jetstar leg $900.00 for the two tickets its just got expensive.
