I'm only getting Tues/Wed availaility anyway for any of BNE's exotic destinations late May. Looks like another sale useless for me.

As usual this 'sale' doesn't work for me. At least the computers don't seem to have gone into complete meltdown this time.

May next year?

Why not have sales where people can make use of them, like next couple of months, instead of flying aircraft half full and expecting people to pay top dollar for airfares?

I found that if you simply hit refresh it 'tends' to come good.

Ho hum. Same problem here.

At least there is a brand new error message:

Thanks for your search.
Our footy finals sale is proving incredibly popular right across Australia, and our website is experiencing very high levels of demand right now.
We're working as hard as we can to help you find the fare you want.
In the meantime please try one of the following, as it may help you find what you're looking for:
Wait 60 seconds and click here to try your search again. If that's unsuccessful and you want to try again, please wait 60 seconds each time before you search to give yourself the best chance of being successful.

Or, try again in about 5 minutes. You should be able to see if demand has quietened down a little.
Thanks for your visit, and we really hope you find what you're looking for. And apologies again for any inconvenience.
Thanks for choosing Jetstar!
If you've arrived here by mistake, and are not looking for our Grand Final Sale specials, simply return to Jetstar - Cheap Flights, Low Fares all day everyday from Australia's newest Cheap Fare airline to continue searching for flights.

It is not just Jetstar. Virgin is the same. And so are the new foreign carriers flying Australian domestic routes.

I could use a cheap deal mid-October. I feel like going somewhere but will not be paying the airfares currently advertised. May is 8 months away....

Reeeaalllllly ????? It never ceases to amaze me how much Jetstar doesn't think sales like this will cause the website to crumble. -- although this time, the website does seem to be performing better than previous sales. Maybe it's cause a lot of people are off celebrating the other type of footy, or the short lead time till the sale. Or maybe Jetstar has increased their web capacity for their sales...

Or maybe punters have had a ^^^^ full of Jetrats and have gone to Virgin.

The only airline that has had sale fares in the next month or two, like this is Air New Zealand, with their Grabaseat sales. Generally if you haven't booked a flight within 2 weeks of the flights, the prices are going to go up, simply because it costs more to fly a fully loaded plane than one that is 50-70% loaded.

Oh, and of course, there are Virgin's Happy Hour deals...

I'll be looking v. closely at any possible availability MEL/HBA in latish May next year.
No availability unfortunately unless you go Wednesday and come back Tuesday. Maybe they clued onto it.

Thanks heaps for the link too smithym. Didn't come through until after you posted. Great to see BNE has such an exciting range of destinations again.

Cheers,

Thanks, at least I feel better now. :-|

Flew up from MEL this morning and was off line until ¼ hour ago; saw the email 6 mins ago and realised the sale finished at 3pm TODAY!

I would have been    if I had missed out on the dates I was after.

... received first mail at 12:07 pm; mrs serfty at 12:13.

Oh, well it looks like we'll need to consider alternatives ...

I can't really see what the ACCC is going to find negative in the sale, but will be nice to see an airline investigated.

They get away with too much...
