Jetstar paid upgrades at the airport

To those who got upgrades, was it bang on 14 days? I've got a flight from Cairns to Japan coming up in 14 days and was wondering where I should be looking on the manage booking page (and obviously my email).

Comes by email, exactly 14 days (not sure, it could be to the hour, but check first thing). Act fast. My flight filled up fast (around 15 or so seats snapped up in an hour).

Yeh cheers. Today is 14 days to the flight that departs at midday.

I haven't received anything and the seat map is still showing 11 open seats. If you look at flights from Cairns to Tokyo in the next 14 days only 2-3 of the days are sold out. The rest have many seats with some flights only showing two occupied.

Hmm. Well the deadline has certainly passed. Unless they're trying something new? Or perhaps try at the airport? (obvious question: you have checked your junk email folders?)

So i have a international flight on Jetstar tomorrow - did not get the upgrade email offer. does anyone have any experience on my chances of a paid upgrade at checkin?

A search shows there are still J seats available.

A follow up on this. A colleague at work had a JQ international flight. Eagerly waiting for an upgrade offer... nothing. Overheard in gate lounge all these people asking each other if they got an offer - many did but didn't take it up. So looks like they are still offering them, but the criteria seems a mystery.

A Staff member at JQ in Cairns told me they officially stopped offering them. Now upgrades prior to check-in and at check-in need to be processed as a full fare change with change fees.

They'll apparently still email them out if there are load issues (oversold in Y etc) but gone are the days of offers by email or at the check-in counter.

if upgrades are to occur, does anyone know if they are sent out for tickets booked with Qantas points?

Just got the email for an upcoming BNE-DPS. $300 for Business Max, though on the upgrade page it says 7800 points and 40 SCs. 40 SCs is what I'd get on my Starter Plus - I'd expect 120 for Business Max. Is this a mistake or have they changed the rules... anyone know from recent experience?

Could be a mistake? but I'd take the upgrade...

The max fare at $100 more is only worth it if in need to the points/status and lounge access (assuming JQ use the QF lounge in Brisbane and you don't have status/club membership).

I'd only take it for the points and SCs tbh. I have already forked out for a great row 10 seat, will be getting some points and SCs from my Plus bundle and have lounge access from my status... and then there's this in the T&Cs:

If you have upgraded to a Business Fare from a Starter Fare with a Plus Bundle, or a Starter Fare with a Max Bundle you will not be eligible to earn Qantas Frequent Flyer Points and Status Credits.

So erring on the side of caution, I might sit this one out. There's now only 2 business seats left anyway according to ExpertFlyer, and I'd probably get stuck in the middle seat...

If you get the 120 SC then it's a no brainer, I'd take it.

It depends on what the upgrade rules are in relation to points and SC earn. Maybe it's like with QF where if you pay for an upgrade you only get the originally ticketed points and SCs. If that is true, then the 40 SC is correct.
