Not sure who's the LCC - Qantas or Jetstar?

I need to go to Sydney at the beginning of September. Adl - Syd - Adl on QF is $119 each way. Total of $238 all up!

Jetstar for the same days is $109 each way, PLUS $10 for checked baggage (which I need), PLUS $10 for FF points. $278 all up????

It was never in doubt that I would fly Qantas, and I only did this as an exercise.

But it makes you wonder???

I think it's quite clever actually. If you want the full works, you'll steer towards QF because it's a bit cheaper overall. If you don't care about points/SCs then you'll steer towards JQ. Why would someone who's interested in earning the SCs and points pay more to fly JQ when they could fly with QF for less. If the route is only flown by JQ, the extra cost of earning SCs/points is aimed at swaying QFFers away from DJ. There is method to the madness...
