Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Anyone know what happened to QF2016 from Sydney to Broken Hill this morning?
Do you mean QF2017 that almost made it to BHQ, then headed back to Sydney?
Take 1:

Looks like they're still intending to send it - departing 1630 arriving 1820.
QF2016 is pencilled in for an 1840 departure.
Edit: QF2017 arrived at 1801, headed back as QF2016 at 1851. Arrival in SYD due at 2059, about 5 hours late. The joys of twice weekly flights.

Will be interested as to what happened.

Hey if anyone is interested… QF94 from LAX to MEL on 787 ZNA… scheduled to depart at 2035 is still in LAX due to technical issues on a valve (source is from a friend’s family) alerting us this issue! Current time of writing - it’s 2 hrs late at 2245 LAX time

Update - looks like it's not departing anytime soon with the aircraft is already 4 hrs late and counting... crew hours must be maxed out soon!

The board in Melbourne this afternoon as I was heading to the gate was lit up with a number of delays

QF27 has had an aircraft swap ZNB now departing at 1300 today (24/12). ZNE, which turned back to SYD yesterday remains grounded. The full schedule isn’t running today and tomorrow, so they have spare aircraft.

Actually are there spare aircraft with ZNA still stuck in LAX on QF94 from yesterday??

Yes as QF21 MEL to DFW is not scheduled today.

From SYD, no QF3, QF27, QF73 or QF103 scheduled. Although QF11 is 787 instead of 380 should be plenty of flex in the fleet.
Thanks for the update... and it is useful to learn aviation news from other contributors here... :)
