Jetstar to boost international flying with new Brisbane Airport partnership

If you have QC membership you have access in BNE to the QC at international.

As pointed out correctly to me to me a different thread at NRT the QC lounge is in a different terminal behind security so not accessable.

AFAIAA JQ doesn't have its own lounges.

on the concourse - (you need to take a quick train to get there after immigration/security)
How long do you think it took to get from the main terminal to concourse A at ICN? I see there is a wider choice of lounges there. Though it seems Korea is not renowned for it's international lounges, the traditional bath house in the basement of ICN would be fascinating to visit though!

takes me about 10 minutes after security

Would be good to see some QF 787 expansion in some of these markets also. I know they don’t have the aircraft sadly.

Looks like operating aircraft will originate from MEL/BKK and turn around in BNE?

Will be interesting to see how capacity works with Jetstar Long Haul in the medium term, they are shortly conducting Heavy Maintenance checks across the whole 787 fleet which will be a multi year task, with the issue of having 1 or 2 787s off at any given time.

For BNE-BKK, JQ can always rebook on BNE-MEL-BKK or BNE-SIN-BKK on QF/3K?

IME, pre-COVID it was the MEL/SIN route that seemed to be the one that was sacrificed. Although IIRC that might have been at the time QF35/6 between the cities were operated by A380s. But they do have QF35, QF37 and QF8405 (EK) to pick up the slack.

The MEL/SIN route was a route with heavy debate in the cancellation thread. Essentially when one 787 breaks down, JQ7/8 is toast. It went for months at one point with 0% OTP.

I would never risk it and have never flown that route with them since all those issues arose and never will. Awaiting EK to upgrade to the A380. Scoot double daily is often quite convenient also.

I'm now Lifetime Gold since end of May. The plan is not earn anymore QF SCs for the future. I will continue to maintain Virgin Platinum/Gold. Who would have thought?

In saying that still lots of Qantas points and if this service remains and airfares are cheap it's certainly a possibility.
