Well OT:

I have the Duty Frees Stores Card. I also have the Regency Duty Free card. Discount is less but pricing varies and you can often get a better NETT price. You can buy cold 6pack of NZ Beer on arrival in AKL and get a 10% discount as well.

Both are certainly cheaper than most OZ Duty Free Chains.

I've looked for this elusive card numerous times when I've heard it discussed here. Finally found a reference to the Regency Club Card on the Regency website:

Regency Duty Free New Zealand
"Regency Club Card applications are now closed." They still have a corporate, aircrew and landcrew version available though.

If you look at the various "welcome to auckland/<insert NZ town name here> magazines, they often have a "Save $5/$10/$X off $70/$80/$X Duty free purchase" vouchers in them. Some hotels and other tourist attractions also have brochures advertising the same deals.

The Air NZ magazine always has promos for both Regency and DFS. You need to pull out the coupons.

At the BNZ and any travel agent and the airbus and at some hotels, there are $10 off DFS vouchers (I forget the minimum spend requirement probably $50).

It is really easy to pay a lot less than the sticker price, which is already lower (in some cases much lower) than duty free in Australia (and most other places).

I'm still kicking myself however, for not picking up some real cheapies from one of the islands. At the price listed, I have to think it was a mistake on some bottles (since others were a bit more expensive than at AKL, 50% cheaper seems odd).

Well there ya go; one wonders why they did that?
