JQ/3K moving to T4 at SIN in March 2023 (previously October 2022) :-(

Probably rules out all but the quite long transit pax from bothering with the lounges, when departing JQ/3K
Can still check in at least 3 hours prior to a 3K/JQ flight at Jewel and then enter T1 from there but otherwise yes it’s not going to be easy to check in at T4 then head to T1 and back to T4 in a short period of time.

Yep - the Jetstar move happened today, 22nd March, and not 25th March as per the thread title.

And some info from Jetstar:

This is interesting… in that article it has the following

Jetstar and Qantas premium passengers can enjoy complimentary access to Blossom – SATS & Plaza Premium Lounge whenever they travel through Changi Airport. The lounge is also available to economy class passengers on a pay-per-use basis.
Now I’m curious what it means by Qantas premium passengers? Does this mean that those previously eligible for QF lounge access now get the Blossom lounge?

Yeah. It just says economy PAX “for purchase”. Nothing specific for Max or QFF (maybe a free lounge pass?)

Blossom Lounge looks better than most of the other 3rd party lounges at SIN, but pretty sure it will be a Max ticket only service

See my post #4 above but there is now a direct bus between T1 and T4 so it may take less time than the previous connection via T2:

The estimated time taken to travel between the terminals using the transit shuttle bus is as follows:
  • T4 to T1: 18mins
  • T1 to T3: 6mins
  • T3 to T4: 12mins
I did I full loop on the bus the other day:

T4-T1 was 15 mins
T1-T3 was 6 mins
T3-T4 was 8 mins

Full loop 29 mins

Nice info.

Did you decide to take one for the team or just bored? 😁

Haha, well I was keen to have at least 1 drink at the QF lounge during my stopover… I lost my nerve and stayed on the bus, but as it turned out with boarding times etc I would have been fine.

I didn’t test entry to the blossom lounge at T4 (WP flying 3K economy max).

Today I will face the issue of arrival into T1 and departure from T4….. any chance in hell QF will let me into the lounge without an onwards boarding pass?

I’m arriving T1 at 1800 (QF) and flying out of T4 (3K) at 1940. Thoughts on whether that’s enough time to squeeze in a cheeky salt and pepper squid in the F lounge?

Yesterday I had the same timings but with JQi to T4 followed by 3K from T4:

JQi arrived 50 mins late. Connecting pax were told to RUN! And we had to! You need to go through central security at T4 and the distances can be quite long.

But isn't that better than gate based security though at the other terminals? ;)

(sorry, I couldn't resist making this comment, an oblique reference to another thread where I argued the benefits of gate based security at the rest of Changi, but seems a number of people prefer the central security arrangement)

Based on what I experienced the other day, provided your inbound flight lands on schedule, I believe this would be feasible. Some fast walking involved. Bus ride is ~15 mins from T1 to T4, with security directly after you alight. No security checks at gates like other terminals.

From what I can remember, no queue at security given that it's only for those alighting from the terminal transfer bus?
Correct, straight through security, boarding pass check, and then up the escalator to the gate level. Pretty compact terminal so not a long walk to any gate.

And those on a flight arriving at T4 transferring to another T4 flight.

Still, it was quick for me last night.

Just as well too! :)

For anyone interested in T1 arrival, T4 departure timings etc:

I arrived at gate D40 in T1, stopped at the QF first lounge just to check, then walked to gate C21 to catch the bus. Arrived at T4 and had a small queue for the Jetstar transfer desk just past security. Got my boarding pass and asked how long before my flight (JQ8) I would have been able to do so “12 hours, as long as the transfer desk is open”. Wasted a bit of time by going upstairs rather than just heading back past security (hard left and you can bypass it) and wend around some glass doors and walls and back to board the bus. Back to T1 and walk to the loung: all achievable in pretty much bang on 1 hour from stepping off arriving flight if no time was wasted.
