JQ begins selling MEL-BQB (Busselton WA)

Yes, I too think it has great potential and my preference would be for BQB over PER anyday (and OOL over BNE for that matter).
 
Looks like this route has been pushed back, possibly not taking off until November.

That said, they are still keen as anything to make this a go ahead. It'll certainly work in the long run once things get back up in the air: Busselton Margaret River Airport transformed and ready for Jetstar flights

We have BQB – MEL booked for October. Maybe we'll end up on a PER flight, but we'll wait and see yet. It's too far off to make decisions...

Looks like first day teething problems trying to get a full load out. Few photos on socials with checkin queues snaking outside the tiny shed terminal and down the road, and that was after the flight was due to depart.
 
I'm looking forward to catching this flight the next time I go to Melbourne, I'll catch the train from Perth to Bunbury, then the connecting bus to Busselton. Maybe I'll go MEL - PER on the return leg though
