Mal broke the bloody aerobridge again, LiamR pretended to be Alan Joyce's boyfriend and got upgraded mid flight, meanwhile the Bali Bogan fumes are overwhelming us, send an AFF search party ASAP

Not to mention Liam's little not so fun chat with immigration.

So how did you handle the orange 'D' sticker scenario? Techinically if you are connecting from one international flight to another, you only need a 'D' sticker on the 2nd boarding pass where you will be arriving and leaving the airport eg QF8 BNE/SYD connecting to JQ35 SYD/MEL you only need the 'D' sticker on the JQ35 boarding pass.

So if you were travelling on JQ35 SYD/MEL & connecting to JQ36 MEL/SYD you should only really need the 'D' sticker on the MEL/SYD boarding pass.

A quick hi to the people I met today (yes, I went along I snuck in somehow under the radar). A big thanks to the lovely lass at the JQ MEL T2 check in today who, at 6am, very chirp-ily allowed my other half and I to collect our boarding passes for JQ35 as well. The only downfall (baring Mal constantly breaking jetbridges and roller doors!) was the long walk at SYD; we arrived at the *A Pier. Still, not so bad.

And apologies to people on the plane if I was rude on JQ35, I was dead tired and thankfully i'm now half alive again (after a stinky cab ride home). Enjoy the J lounge kids, i'm crashing out for a bit, then finding some dinner somewhere:)

Did they forget the stamp in SYD? That's how I had my not so fun chat with immi last year coming off QF8...

Well, what a great way to send off the Saturday JQ36/35 Flounge run.

Three different french champagnes in two lounges with a quick dash "into" Australia and back out again (to get a BP). And got to meet some fellow AFFers.

Pity the JQ system doesn't quite cope with people like us! "What, you want a BP for a return domestic flight from the international terminal this afternoon?"

... And the aerobridges didn't seem to cope with us either.

Sounds like a hoot! Great to hear a good time was had (suspect immigration and airbridge demolition aside). :p

Would you believe both aerobridges on both flights failed.

Luckily I was standing in the galley chatting the crew for the second flight.

Got my two boarding passes with D stickers on them, went through immigration at MEL and they stamped my JQ36 BP, when I arrived at Sydney I went through the transfer desk, which has no immigration check, just a security screening as a result, my JQ35 BP had no stamp saying I cleared customs in SYD.

When I got off JQ35 and went through immigration at Melbourne, my BP had no stamp on it (because there was no person to stamp it in Sydney!) so they wanted to have a chat about why I didn't clear immigration in Sydney.

I'm quite surprised that you can arrive into Sydney and then go into depatures without any checks.

Did I get seated in Busienss Class? Yes.

Did I also get a Flight Attendant's number (No, No chocolate given out either)? Yes.

I've got a lovely photo of all of you giving me the look from back in Economy and drewbles asleep.

We need to have a discussion. Pronto. :p

Most of the pics I took today are on Facebook, being the nice person I am I refrained from posting a photo of drewbles sleeping, it's tiny anyway. It's a long way from Row 1 to economy. ;)

I'm waiting for Carlous Moochous to email me some of the pics he got.

Am adding you as a friend on FB, would love to see the pics..

Sounds like it was a great day.

Who would believe that 2 aero bridges could break in one day

Sounds like everyone had an adventure. I got to going shopping instead! Right now enjoying the fruits of my home brewing.

Wise move, not worth the potential grief! Would take too long to chalk up the brownie points to get back in the good books again. Short term gain for long term loss. You could imagine the conversation:

Q. SWMBO's family: "Where's FuzzyAUS today"?

A. SWMBO: "Oh he didn't want to spend the day with family & chose to waste money on an airfare to MEL for the day so he could hang out with a whole bunch of guys he's never met before & could drink free booze & indulge in salt & pepper squid in both QF's MEL & SYD First Class lounges".

FuzzyAus SWMBO sounds like a nice person. My SWMBO answer would be more like

A. SWMBO: "He's gone to meet a whole bunch of guys he meet on the Internet."

mmm for me her indoors would respond as follows:

"No idea where he has gone, all I know he is not messing the house up!"

Great day to be had by all and sundry.

Cheers LiamR for being the chief protagonist and organiser.
Also Cheers to Mal for casting a WP Shadow on me. - Although you stuffed those two Aerobrdiges up pretty well, thank god JQ bought the ones from Air Australia online.

A Marc Newson inspired trip report coming soon.
