DJ do have a nice late afternoon flight on Fridays to Mel :)

Put me down (and as mentioned in the previous thread for the original event, could I please declare dibs on the airport tour as I was a very early payer ;))

Me too. I am very keen on the airport tour and the DC-3 charter.

I'll most likely skip the double F lounge trip. I did this earlier, and it's a very long day with the amount of Taittinger consumed (and i'd rather go out have beverages in the evening with those still willing to kick on, shall I book a small table at 18o6 for those interested? :))

I am probably leaning in a similar direction. I may stay Friday in SYD and sleep in then join for JQ35 only (ex-SYD), and limit my time in the F Lounge to the 'normal' 2-3 hours so I can fully enjoy the charter flight.

I am happy with 18o6 for evening beverages.

18o6 looks good, might need a bigger table ;)

I had to say no thanks to an award ceremony but I think I made the right choice for the day :D

Great idea, and a good point, those who want to join ex Sydney can do so mid Saturday!

I prefer to keep it to a small number there. It's a nice venue for 4-6 people. I don't know how many people are willing to spend $18 a coughtail (I know I am more than happy to, considering how nice it is).

I think i'd have 4 already including you guys, so perhaps I'll go ahead and make a booking for 6 on the Saturday night around 8:30-9pm :)

Somebody had better explain the process of booking the JQ flights to me, because I'm not across the booking knowledge.

Wait till Tiger have a sale and the pricing meets your expectations for a flight within an hour of JQ, then ring the JQ price beat line, wait 5 seconds to 50 minutes and they will beat the fare by 10% and charge no CC fee. I find early morning calls are the easiest.

Sat, Jul 21, 2012 MEL 08:55 hrs SYD 10:30 hrs TT 528
Sale Fare
AUD49.95

Sat, Jul 21, 2012 SYD 15:35 hrs MEL 17:10 hrs TT 595
Sale Fare
AUD49.95

So at present you are looking at $90 round trip all in.

I have updated Post 1 with new activities for Sunday, namely a visit to the TAA and Airways museum at Essendon and also the flying exhibit display/pilot chat at the RAAF Mueseum in the afternoon. I am going to see if we can charter the DC3 and fly in for that part :).

TT have a sale as we speak for MEL-SYD for $49.95 e.w.

Check the TT website to make sure flights are available at approx 0900 MEL-SYD and 1500 SYD-MEL

When you ring the JQ price match number make sure you state JQ36 and JQ35 as the flights you want. They will try to put you on flights out of the domestic terminals but refuse and stick to your guns for the international terminal departures. Kinda defeats the purpose otherwise.

As others have posted you could be waiting a while on hold - although I rang them just now and got straight through.

I have booked Jetstar staying the weekend, now I have to book a hotel.
Where is everybody staying. If we get together it will make it easier.

markis are the dates locked in? suppose ill try to make it since i paid for the last event.

Will actually probably be in DRW that week now ... might think about flying the DRW-BNE-SYD redeye on DJ and meet you all in SYD. But then it is a redeye and mehhh...
And also markis I will likely have luggage if I do that, something small ~10kg. Will there be FA's enforcing carryon limits for the DC9 flight (or can I just dump it somewhere safe)?

Simsy have you decided what you are going to do?

Ok since I was a total no show for the last one I am going to be there for this one.
I wont do the F Lounge run as I hate JQ and see enough of the Flounges anyway.
Looking forward to the activities Sunday :)

Likewise. However, I am still thinking of doing 1x FL run and staying in SYD on Friday night.

Looking forward to it

Ok getting a little organised as the OCD part of me is unleashed
Have booked HOTP ( aka HOTPANTS:p ) $155 Govt rate and a JASA back to SYD on 22nd dep 18.15

Thought I would reply that I am definitely out for this event.

I have a wedding to attend on the 21 July.
