13/6 BKK QP/J lounge awaiting ongoing QF2

Looks like we will be at BKK airport at the same time.

I get into BKK from HKG at 5:30pm. Not sure what time QF2 gets in to BKK, or when it leaves, but it would be nice if we can say hello while you are in transit. I shall be heading out to immigration and I am not sure if BKK is similar to SIN where people in transit and incoming passengers are in the same area.

QF2 Arr BKK at 1535
QF2 dep BKK at 1730

Might be a go if we're late / you're early. Can you use the lounge on arrival, if you can we could have a drink as long as our flight is running late! An alternative is a quick hello as we're at the gate and you're inbound coming off your flight?

Can anyone assist with info - will this be possible at BKK or are arriving pax segregated from departing? I doubt we'll be able to risk going through immigration twice with <2hr connection (besides, there's no way mrsdoc will agree to that!).

I wouldn't expect you to go through immigration twice. I have a suspicion that arrivals and departures are separate in BKK and you need to go back through security.

From memory SIN has arrivals and departures together and I have met a number of AFF'ers while I or they have been in transit.

I have been there many times although I have never transited airside in BKK. If like HKG then you need to go through security again and be holding a boarding pass for an onward flight.

I think that will have to suffice unless your flight is late and I can somehow get to departures without a boarding pass for an onward flight. Oh well, I did try....

Bangkok flight services might be able to help you.

They have a service that meets you at the plane or at check-in for arrivals and take you where you need to go. Very handy if you want to get through immigration quickly.

It may not be possible for this trip but handy to know in case I ever need to clear immigration quickly and do not have checked luggage.

Even if you have checked luggage it can be worth it (depending on how many flights are in).

The representative takes you through a dedicated lane and then takes your passport from you and takes it to immigration (they first check your picture looks like you and then immigration scans it)

A pleasant way to get through immigration, they then help you with your bags and accompany you to your ground transport.
