Have climbed back to 771 as have no new cards for quite a while. We have higher scores in the US.

Of course the US have a quite different credit scoring system, so not sure they can or should be compared.

Yes burmans that is correct but I am about 50 points off the top of the US scale and 229 off the Australian scale.
It is a pretty weak method of determining who is a better bet with payments but I saw both Citibank and Westpac looked me up in Australia when I moved up my credit card limits. There are some fairly large transactions I put on credit cards but I return the cards to zero debt to avoid interest getting charged.

Mostly a dartboard is what I was thinking as we have such different scores between the US and Australia.
If you go applying for many cards or bigger limits your Australian credit score will slump for a few months.

That's weird. Just applied for an increase 3 weeks ago. Maybe it hasn't hit yet.

Qudos did not use the scorers. They asked for 3 months of every credit card and a bunch of other stuff including business figures.

My credit score (via Veda) is 769 at the moment, and just waiting for my home loan to be finalized. Will start applying for CC after that, and my main purpose is to get more Qantas points, any suggestions on order of credit card application ?? Only holding CBA Amex/Mastercard only..

For anyone considering obtaining their credit score I'd be grateful you use my link https://www.getcreditscore.com.au/?utm_source=CrossPromoGCSbase&utm_campaign=641585

Disclosures: There is no cost to get your credit score. If you use my link to obtain your score I will receive 5 entries in a draw for $80,000 and a car.
Getcreditscore emailed me this afternoon to say three people had used my referral link. I've no idea who, nor do I need to know. But thanks. I shall be sure to let you know if I win the car.

Meantime, the link is still valid for those of you still wanting to obtain your credit score.

Where is the thread / is there a thread that discusses Veda file entries?

applied 2 credit cards last month and now my credit score is 684.. guess will stop applying for this year.. :-( thought i can apply for another one to get additional QFF points.. and seems that each credit card application took away 40 points..

My credit score was in the low 500's last time i checked, have never been knocked back for credit. ever.

I pay bills on time (mortgage, utilities, credit cards $0 balance etc), no personal loans/leases, no skeletons on closet, stable long term employer, living well within means etc but my weakness for signup bonuses makes me look rubbish on paper lol.

Does any banking institution actually even use credit score? - if so haven't seen/felt it yet. Very few applications for credit I have made online are referred, most are approved on the spot. If Credit score was really a thing i imagine my experience would differ greatly.

Anyone have the inside word?

I'm another with a score of around 850 and not taking advantage like I should. Time to change that!

From the experienced among us, am I correct in saying you can just sign up, get approved, spend the minimum, then once points have been issued to the FF program, you can cancel the card? No strings attached?

You are correct, if the card has benifits like a flight, make sure to use it before cancelling
