No real point to this thread..just thought I'd share. :)

I was well on track to make QFF Lifetime Silver last December, but our travel policy changed to "all economy", so it was difficult when a trip that used to earn 720 status credits suddenly started earning about 150...

Still, two US trips in Y/discount Y came up (one of which I'm half-way through) and just now I passed the 7,000SC mark, with 7,010 (and another 130 or so before my membership year resets). :)

Making Plat again next year might be difficult (depends on how the YUP situation goes), and my biggest trip is a RTW done entirely on points...but we'll see how it goes. If the "average SC earn" rule really does apply, then I should be good for another 2+ years!

Anyone else made lifetime status in a short amount of time? For me this year was the kicker - with almost 3,900SC's thanks to a few J trips and one DONE4.

(I realise Silver doesn't offer a whole lot, but it is nice to know I'll never have to use an Economy queue when travelling on a OneWorld airline ever again...well, at least while that remains a Ruby benefit. :))

Cheers,
- Febs.

I squeaked over the LTS mark in May 2008, having jumped on the FF bandwagon in March 2006 (I had 20 SC total at that point), so just over 2 years.

I'm sitting on just over 10,000 at the moment, but, like you, am likely to have much less flying this calendar year. 2010 should incorporate some nice itineraries.

To be honest, I only fly a very modest amount in comparison to many around here. I recall simongr pointing out that if he had credited his flying to QF, he would have made LTS in almost 1 year. Similarly, good ol Kiwiflyer zoomed from LTS to LTG in the space of several weeks.

I'm not sure what I will do if I hit the LTG mark (if it still exists). Possibly start crediting to AA.

Despite the huge SC earn this year, I'd have to say the same. My trips are fairly condensed - a thousand or so SC's in the space of 2-3 weeks, then nothing for a few months, or maybe a short domestic trip.

I think I'll do the same, unless they ever make Lifetime Plat a status you can officially obtain (apparently, it is given out to certain long-standing CL's after they lose CL.)

Well done Febs... I guess it makes up for the time away hey? Although by the looks of things you manage to inject a fair bit of fun into your trips!

Well done Febs.

Thinking of it another way is you are now half way to Lifetime Gold and a few extra benefits up your sleeve if your travel patterns happen to change....

LTS will also see you high up the ladder to snag upgrades, ie above QP members.
I will make it LTS in the next 12 months also. I guess i should have started earlier to credit to QF but i used to credit where i thought it made most sense (AA due to lots of JL flights pre JL being OW)

Congrats.

I'll make LTS pretty soon as well. My next planned trip leaves me just 10sc's short... Looking forward to making the status :) Then onwards and upwards to LTG. Aaah the things we do!

Congrats Febs on LTS! Now just do it again and you've got LTG. :)

No lounge access, but as you said, premium line use and some loading on your points isn't too bad.

I wonder that since PS attainment = 1 free QP pass does this mean you'll get a QP pass every year from now on?

This i also wandered.... interesting to find out, but cant imagine many LTS people who are not always attaining Gold/Platinum.

Congrats! My uncle is still a CL, but has already been given life "WP".

Congratulations Febs

...

LTG was an impossible dream from my perspective until I came across AFF (&FT) in November 2004.

Back then I had garnered just less than 4000 SC/TC's since these were first introduced in September 2008.

I flew my first DONEx segments in October '05, reaching WP that month. My first YUP's were in June '07

Almost exactly 4 years later I achieved LTG, the last 7K SC's in 26 Months!

It may have been different if my ~200 flights taken October '94 though September '98 were included in my life time SC/TC tally.

Congrats Febs - I am tempted to chuck a heap of points to AA to snag LTG on their program.

Well done Febs...

Am just behind you with 240 scs to go to lts (or 50% ltg as if refer to it) and 4 Asian flights of my DONE to finish by October, although hoping for a J NZ flight in the next flight to knock it over.

After 120 scs last year am just about to knock over Partner Gold.

Now shy by a mere 2 SCs !!!!

NZ trip didn't come through but a project has had me back and forth on east coast runs over the last few wks.

My value ranking is also going up, been preallocated 4A a number of times in the last 2 wks, even when booking / changing flights under T-24
