Congratulations (in advance) moa999 and Mal!

P.S. I'm still trying to work out in my head how one can be off by 2 SCs....

Serfty solved this one a couple of wks ago.
At one point I believe there was a 8/ 15 SC tier bracket (and maybe some other rounded Discount Y brackets) so I have obviously picked up some odd points along the way there.

For the moment though it is excruciatingly close.

moa999, ever considered calling up and seeing if they would complimentary upgrade you to LTS?

Now shy by a mere 2 SCs !!!!

My value ranking is also going up, been preallocated 4A a number of times in the last 2 wks, even when booking / changing flights under T-24

Even at T - 2 hours a lowly Qantas nothing can't even get that seat; the check in agent couldn't even give it to me, even though it was available.

Congrats to those reaching LTS.

Hmmm I've never had any issues, in fact I nabbed 4C for my Mother last night

I think it depends on the sector and when you OLCI. Sometimes you have to keep trying. Getting a front row seat in the BNE/SYD/MEL triangle without WP is called luck - and that's being nice.

I could get row 4 seats as a SG or PS but I had to keep checking almost every hour, with about a 40% success rate.

It involves a lot of luck. How about BNE-SYD on a Friday afternoon with no status, not even QFF member, sitting in 4C with seq #149 on a 150 seat aircraft?

I would guess the previous occupant of 4C had been upgraded in this case.

...and it then just so happens that our non-QFF pax was persistent and managed to bag this seat before someone else could (i.e. after it was vacated by the former 4C pax).

I guess this means that if a pax gives up their preallocated seat, it effectively becomes free for everyone, i.e. it is no longer blocked. This would make some sense if I it could explain why I was actually able to get 4A or 4C sporadically as a SG or PS.

... or maybe a late notice op up for the previous 4C resident ...

But then we have situations as outlined by Bundy Bear where a Qantas Club member was having issues trying to get a row 4 middle seat next to a Platinum.

There are lot of inconsistencies with this new check-in system and it is not helped by people playing musical chairs after receiving premium seat allocations....

Well done to all for attaining the LTS!

If the regular travel keeps up I should hit this mark in around 12 months from now, unless the company travel policy changes for the worse.
