Just an update: I've just been comped for another year!! :D
I've had a job change which led to a bit of a break in the middle of my year but have since started flying in earnest again and have a bit planned (nothing booked though). Anyway thanks Qantas.

No, it's just a glitch in the system not updating all the fields correctly, that should sort itself out in a day or week.

On the bookings in the system issue, it would depend on what the timing of the "auto cancel" in each. Most discount economy bookings have a requirement to be paid within a week of booking (if not sooner) and auto cancel if they're not paid. The higher the fare code, the more time before you have to pay for the ticket.

For example, domestic red e-deals, super saver and flexi savers are instant purchase with ticketing (e-ticket) queued when the payment has been accepted. Only fully flexible and business don't have to be paid and ticketed before travel.

So QF will look at your bookings in the system, look at those that are paid and assume you will probably take those flights. I always seem to have bookings in my account, so not a trouble for me if it comes to the crunch.

I am expecting next year to be my last as Platinum (5 good years), so it will be interesting to see what happens.

Well the glitch in the system means I have an out of date FF card and not a clue as to my real status, the good news is that I dont have any flights for a few weeks.

Seems the changes to the system re upgrades since May are having some positive benefits, the last three flights I have had two op upgrades without any request, both on early morning flights when I really needed the extra room!

AT the very least, you will drop back to Gold - you only drop one level at a time.

Another handy bit of info - because I was only comped very close to my expiry date I haven't received my new card yet. But the old one still works!! At the desk and in the QuickCheck machine. So that's good - I thought I'd have to pull out a paper itinerary and my licence.
Common sense prevails.
