Kiwi Lawyer attempts to claim tax refund on $0 Jetstar fares

At the end the lawyer says he looks forward to flying Jetstar again soon. I wonder if he’s going to get banned?
 
It seems he may have won if in a court and not via tribunal.

He should have consulted Harvey Specter.

“Unlike in a regular court, this is something that the Disputes Tribunal Act 1988 allows the tribunal to do.”

I have a gut feeling JQ would have fought it tooth and nail not to set a precedent and he could have ended up with court costs way in excess of his claim. Why take the risk just to be a smart a..

Harvey Specter would not be bothered with such trivial cases. Louis Litt on the other hand .....

It was never a ‘loophole’, at least one that anyone could enforce.

Has JQ stopped offering ‘free’ returns? They were never ‘free’… the one way fare was always more expensive than when the had sales for example.

Which is why it was good that you used to be able to cancel that one way outbound sector but still keep the $0 inbound sector.

Now if I try to cancel the outbound sector the system is forcing me to also cancel the $0 inbound sector.

Errr… well… that seems fair enough! Otherwise you’d be flying for free!
