Korean Air Trip Report

After meals, it was lights out, then 90 minutes prior to arrival (remember this was an overnight flight) lights on, hot towels, cloth on tray, breakfast. I’m sure that they offered snacks between meals but I was out to the world.

Korean style porridge serviced with side dishes:

Chive omelette with tomato and mozzarella sauce served with roasted potato, creamed spinach and grilled bacon (my colleague's breakfast option):

On decent, I noticed that the seatbelt sign only came on 10 minutes prior to the destination. A F/A also came around informing us which aircraft door we’ll be exiting from, which I though was nice. And before long, I was home sweet home.

Great TR,

I am hungry looking at all the food.

It's an airline I have never even thought of.

Thanks for the trip report, I have travelled with Korean Air in the past but not for nearly 10 years but I'm now booked with Korean Air from Brisbane to New York (JFK) via Seoul Prestige (J) class in April, flying A330 with old angled lie flat seats to Seoul, then B777-300ER with new full flat seats to JFK, returning on the A380 some 4 weeks later.
Will try and post a TR on my return.

Well done, how much if you dont mind me asking?

No I don't mind you asking.

I paid $5889.08 , booked on line mid January through Zuji.com.au

This was about $400 cheaper than Korean Air's own site and that much or more cheaper than any other on line booking site.

These fares were still available for late March and all through April a few days ago.

Well worth looking at if you are going to New York, with a travel time similar to flying with Qantas/AA/Delta/Virgin.

Fantastic report. I'm really interested to try these guys, and I'm also interested in visiting Seoul. Great to see the F product that's on the 777. Did you happen to see the style of F on the 747 between SYD-ICN? reading KE's website it's a little difficult to know what product you'd get.

Their pricing is insane (in a good way! :p, as opposed to QF which is insane in a not so good way ), so good to see that it represents excellent value judging by your report.

Nice work.

Cheers
Oz.

I think you will find on the 747 they are using the "first class sleeper seat" which is an older style, full flat seat but not of the "shell variety" it has a mini wall behind to seperate each row of seats. seat pitch is 83", and IFE screen is 10.4".
I flew in first on a Korean Air 747 about 12 years ago in an even older configeration that used recliner seats but not full flat and that was quite comfortable for 10 to 12 hour flights.
To check what you will get go to the Korean Air web site, click on "on board" then on "flight schedule for new aircraft" and click the "Oceania" tab and click on the seat symbol for the class of travel you wish to check and it brings up the seat details.

JHBOZO:)
