I'm thinking of using Korean Airlines Business class to UK. Has anyone used them and what are they like. Let me know your thoughts and experiences.

When are you thinking of departing, because given the current specials out at the moment, if you can fly JAL in J for only a couple of hundred more, which you can if departing before 30 Sept, then i'd be paying the extra, because aside from a better product, you'll likely make Gold QF F/F if you aren't already which will give you over $200 of benefits.

If travelling with a companion, there are heaps of companion fares out with JAL, Emirates and others who are as cheap as KE and in some cases cheaper.

I can't speak on the quality of KE's J product, airlinequality.com or flatseats.com might be a good source of info, but as I said above, theres so many good deal on offer from the higher end carriers, i'd look at what you can get for a little extra.

I have had a good flight on Asiana once... but only flown in J once, in whY on some planes they had 34" pitch so loved them !
I think they are ok from what i hear, but nobody is raving about them being good or terrible that i know.

I agree Asiana is very good in business class. Don't know about Korean Airlines though!

I've flown Nadi to Seoul on Korean in J. The service was exceptional and the food very good, however the seating was terrible. In fairness, it was a "regional" A330, however the seat was somewhere between the Qantas domestic J and old intl 767 J.

PTV was a tiny screen with poor selection on a loop and sleeping was virtually impossible. The crew nearly made up for it, to the extent that (if it were a daytime flight) I'd consider using them, however if you intend to get some rest its not worth is.

As mentioned, given the very competitive business fares being offered at the moment, there are better options. One plus though is a free overnight stay at the Hyatt in Incheon if you're connecting onto a Euro-bound flight.

From Australia to Seoul, think of it as being premium economy or Business class 15 years ago before the lay flat beds.
From Seoul onwards, they're up there with the best. They just dont see australia as being a viable enough route for J class, as such, their pricing is indicative of this mixed economy/business type journey

My Dad flew them to Rome (or Zurich? Can't remember) and said it was almost the same as being in economy and was a huge disappointment.
