Kowloon (Hong Kong) Hotel advice/opinions

Another thing with lounge access ... we had to check out extended to 2pm but still had the late flight back to Oz.
So we checked out in our swimmers .... took our HLO upstairs to the pool. Left our luggage in the lockers. Had a swim, relax, shower and get ready for journey home.
But we still had access to the lounge until 'departure'. So we went to the lounge, had a refreshment, a sit down then departed. All very civilised.

It does make a late departure much more pleasant.

Also if you check in early at say 6am, while you may not get your room you are always invited to enjoy a breakfast and club facilities immediately.

Sheraton location wise you cannot beat it, being right next to the harbour/ferries. However inside the hotel whilst nice is a bit dated.

Well club room for the Langham Place, Mongkok has been booked. Will report back (not till mid-October though).

And the Aqua bar with a fabulous view.

How do you normally get back to HKG from the Sheraton? Using the train, that is..

Looks like I can pick from: TST -> change twice to get the airport express.
Or: airport express shuttle bus to Kowloon, then check-in there before going to HKG.

I will be doing this in just over a week and am going HLO, flying CX F to LAX so I don't really need to check in/bag drop in Kowloon. But whichever is easier/more comfortable etc I would go with...

How much would a taxi cost?

Just stayed there recently, took a taxi to/from airport for ~$250HK ($35AU). For 2 pax or more it's a better deal then using the shuttle.
Getting there by train is too much hassle, use either shuttle or taxi IMO.
Very nice hotel btw, refurbished rooms, excellent breakfast and fantastic location!

As boomy said, for 2 pax's taxi is the only way.

When they complete the massive works at Kowloon Station in a couple of years, then you will be able to connect to the MTR.

Alternatively, if you want to experience the airport train, which departs every 8 minutes, then take the train from the airport and taxi from to the Sheraton from the Kowloon station.

From the hotel to the airport, I always take a taxi.

Last time I stayed at the Sheraton I took airport express shuttle to kowloon then the train. Pretty painless although it's annoying having to stop at all other hotels for pickups first. I would suggest of time is an issue or travelling 2 or more pax (as already suggested above) take a taxi. Also considering you're flying CX F checkin at the airport as CX's F checkin at hkg is much more classy than kowloon checkin ;)

Enjoy
