Kris flyer upgrade and miles earned

If I upgrade one or two sectors of an eligible economy class booking, do I still earn economy miles for the upgraded flights.
I have booked BNE-FCO then upgraded the SIN-FCO r/t two sectors. Miles are shown for the non upgraded bits but nothing for the upgraded sectors. Do I get economy miles for the upgraded sectors?

I asked Krisflyer that question, you should get miles at the economy rate. You only get miles for flights that you've paid $$ for.

24. Additional rules for upgrade awards
a. Upgrades are available to the next higher class of service. Double class upgrades are not permitted.
b. Miles earned for travel using an upgrade award will be based on the original class of service purchased.
