KrisFlyer Points expiry

Hi guys
I transferred points over from virgin to safeguard just in case.
My points are expiring March 2023 - does anyone happen to know if I book something by March 2023 if I can book it for later (October 2023) or if it means I have to actually complete the travel by March 2023 ?

You just need to book before your points expire, travel can be post expiry date. Also welcome to AFF.

Just be careful with bookings beyond expiry. If you cancel the booking, the original points expiry is retained (and will expire). So I would only do so if you'll absolutely be travelling

Though that has been one advantage of the pandemic.Mrsdrron had points expiring in Feb 2020.So towards the end of Feb we booked awards SIN-BKK-SIN in J.Cancelled early August 2020 and the points returned were given new expiry of Feb 2021.Again in Feb booked te same awards to BKK and again points expiry was now April 2022.Booked now awards HND-SIN in May 2022.That flight is now definitely being taken.
