Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone had done that return, and which airline they put you on.

I assume first leg is MH, just not sure which would the second leg be (or do you get a choice to minimise transit time) now that MH doesnt go to LAX.

And how many points did it take?

Thanks - Scheps :)

I have flown that route with CX, on CX aircraft all the way KUL-HKG-LAX. AAdvantage awards on CX can only be booked over the phone. Call the USA number for best service and lowest "service" fees.

Thanks for that, i did not even think about CX. I automatically thought about MH because xKUL and also availability, as i heard CX usually is not too good. But will give it a try and see how it goes!

BTW how many points was that? is it counted as one or two trips? (one way)

My trips on that route have always been paid flights. AAdvantage awards are based on zones, so would be Asia-2 to North America, so will cost 35K for economy, 55K for business class and 67.5K for first class (one way).

Thanks you very much for that, I had forgotten about that chart completely.

I did KUL-JFK on an AA award last year, went KUL-HKG on MH then HKG-JFK on CX. I would do similarly for any USA destination CX serves (assuming award space is available).
