Good to be part of another lounge crawl. They're always tons of fun. Thanks for organising @JessicaTam.

Waiting for the details of next lounge crawl to be posted but I'm thinking heading straight to work after a long haul red-eye and then a domestic sector is not such a great idea.

Especially so if it's done in Y....

Aplogies @serfty I did see your earlier post about your CMB turnaround. How many SC did you scoop from that?
U class award to CMB, I class CMB-KUL-SIN-MEL as part of a longer journey yet to be completed (MEL stopover). Expect 340 for those segments with 2xSC's for SIN-MEL.

By the way (and I will mention this in the appropriate thread) here's a QF disconnect for you...

As I mentioned last night in the lounge 36 actually pushed me over to P1 requal .. this afternoon I got an email from the SST as a congrats for that - which was quicker than they usually manage. Anyway in it the SST member noted "Since it's a public holiday I won't bother you with a phone call..." - seems ironic that they somehow did not put two and two together and note I was on the delayed flight.....

Interesting. For my requalification email they noted I was currently travelling.

Thanks @JessicaTam for organising.

Nice to catch up with most of you. Glad everyone got home safely, and without having to spend the entire night in SIN.

My 7 flights for the weekend included 2 "broken" aircraft, 4 delayed flights (total about 11 hours), and 2 rebookings onto other flights. Along with some issues in previous trips, 2019 is shaping up to be a year of travel misadventures for me.

Many thanks to Jessica Tam for the organising before, during and ...after! Sterling effort.

Where to, next year?

For some reason I thought JHB-KUL and KUL-SIN earned 40 SCs each way in business. They only earn 20 SCs each way.

Silly mistake and the cost of SCs not looking so good now.

Yes it’s unfortunate if an MH flight

But it makes sense as KUL-SIN is only 184nm.

I reckon the anomaly is QF because they have a very short flight SYD-CBR for 40SC in J for about 150nm distance. If CBR is not so important, it would be less

KUL-PEN is 20SC in J @200nm
KUL-LGK is 40SC in J at 280nm

I just had a call from QF "Executive Relations" regarding QF36. According to them I had "complained" to loyalty about lack of notification of delay to the flight (???). Well I hadn't spoken with or written to ANYONE at QF about the flight. I have a feeling someone (probably SST) read on here regarding the flight (the P1 thread I think) and some misunderstanding went on. It was a rather odd discussion though. The person from QF clearly seemed to be trying to figure out where they got the information from ("Oh you did a feedback survey?" "You contacted Loyalty?") so I suspect someone else internally put them in the hot seat to call me.

Bascally though they apologised for the situation. the usual.. tech issues happen (we know)... and that was it pretty much. I wasn't pset. More bemused at the call and the stuff about me "complaining" about not being notified of the "delay" to the flight. I expressed well I was there, could see the engineers working away and so on, and that I felt the crew (tech and cabin) handled things as well as could be expected in a non ideal situation, and I felt Singapore ground staff were also very good. There was never suggestion of points or any kind of compensation (but neither did I ask).

Somewhat ironically as the call was obviously coming to a close and they were apologising for what happened... the call was disconnected. LOL
