Hi all,

I'm looking at booking a PER-KUL-LHR trip as two separate bookings. first a revenue PER-KUL on MH and then KUL-LHR as a QF Classic Reward on MH metal. If this was on one booking I'd get the MH 126 departing PER at 02:20, Arr KUL at 07:55 to connect with MH4 at 09:25.
Given it'll be two separate bookings the plan is to get an earlier flight to KUL (flight MH 124 Depart 15:15 and Arr KUL at 22:00 the night before).

Now to the question - will MH through check bags for this itinerary? The reason being - I understand that there's a transit hotel airside at KUL which could presumably be used if the bags are through checked and you have the onward boarding pass (which I presume you'd be able to get via online check in or at an MH desk in Perth or airside at KUL). This would be easier than exiting through immigration.

Thoughts?

I've stayed at the airside hotel (confusingly labels itself Terminal 1 but is in fact in Satellite A) - it was OK. It meant I could access the MH lounges for a free dinner on arrival before retiring for the night, and enjoyed breakfast in the same way before my 1 hour flight to Singapore.
However, to the crux of your question - I was HLO.
