Talking to a guy here in SCL who does the LA codeshare on QF metal QF27/28 frequently. He hasn't been able to get the seat selection to work either!

This morning (yesterday?) I couldn't even get bag checked thru to Colombia - even though on a single ticket BNE-SYD-SCL-BOG. They gave up in BNE. When I got to SYD the wonderful staff at the QF First/Emerald checkin counter managed to physically track my bag down and re-ticket it all the way through to BOG. This made me very happy - otherwise I would have to pay that bloody USD$120 reciprocity fee to enter Chile, just to collect and checkin bag again.

RedRoo, I do not know the name of the lady who served me in Sydney, but she was great :)

I recall having a situation where coming out of somewhere like UIO on LA and connecting to QF that - after a lengthy struggle by the supervisor - my bag was checked through. However, they could not check me all the way.

That would indeed be a PITA if you had to pay the reciprocity fee in SCL just to re-check your bag. That said, I've not encountered that problem heading into S America from Aus.
