Langham Hotels in HKG.

Reading this has just inspired me to book a room at the Langham Place Mongkok for June when I need to be there on a personal matter.
A Club Studio Place ... so hopefully I've picked the right room and have a bed vs futon.

Yep. But only if you want Champagne and refreshments throughout the day and night and expedited service.

I'd be making enquiries about the futon though. Their beds are normally bliss :p A couple of us AFFers are there on 1st April.

Then Me thinks Me picked the right room combo if Champagne is on the list. If you lot decide the place isn't up to scratch in April then I can always switch out to another hotel

Revisiting this thread again - am looking at hotels in Sep for a short family holiday (Mum and brother are coming). Looking at getting 3 of us in a room and from searching it seems that any decent hotel in the central or lower Kowloon regions is going to be quite $$$ - LP Mongkok seems to be looking pretty good..

Is Langham Place the major shopping mall in HK? How about outlet malls or other retail malls? It will be my first time to HK so I'm all ears!

Oh, what is the club lounge evening food offering like? Just for grazing or can you have a dinner-type meal there?

I'll let you know the latest on club food in a few weeks time. :p

Their triple rooms seem rather good from pix I've seen.

LP Mall is the major mall on Kowloon side and it's full of eateries if you don't get enough in the Club and just need another snack.

Sorry, I don't do much outlet shopping in HK. I think there's one on Lantau Island near the chairlift but from memory it wasn't fabulous.

There is plenty of shopping on the Kowloon side. Langham Place shopping centre is the main retail centre in Mong Kok/Yau Ma Tei. Othe retail centres include Festival Walk in Kowloon Tong, iSquare in TST and the large Mall next to the Langham in Kowloon West. All of these are only 2-3 stops away on the MTR.

The only outlet centre I know of is at Chung Tung on Lantau. I wasn't impressed with it.

+1 to this, also Elements at Austin and Olympian City at Olympic

also Pacific Place in Central, Hysan Place and Time Square in Causeway bay on HK side.

As a rule most shopping centres in HK cater to mainland china luxury brand tastes...

for those looking at Langham-on-a-budget you may want to also check out the new one thats opened in Shenzhen, I got a club room on a saturday night for around 2000 HKD including breakfast, early checkin/late checkout and 200CNY spa credit

Jeez, not sure how I forgot about Elements and Olympian City, doh!

Good thing about Elements is that you combine it with a visit to Ozone at the top of the ICC :).
