My choice is always Bellagio for myself and my clients, with the Virtuoso membership don't just get a rate guaranteed below rack but also get comp upgrades and amenities.

My other fave is Mandarin Oriental, great non casino option and a gorgeous rooftop pool area.

Can't wait to head back to Vegas in August, love the place.

Loved the room you booked for us earlier this year. Probably by new favourite Vegas property (with Aria the second). Plenty of casinos nearby too.

Cheers
Febs.

Palazzo/Venetian have some pretty good deals over the next couple of months @ USD119/night plus tax (if avoiding fri/sat).
Massive rooms, good for the bucket-list factor re 'Vegas opulence', but towards the north end of the strip, opposite Mirage

I would check out http://www.mycheapvegas.com to see what's available but have no hesitation in recomending the HGV Elara. The MVP rates are good and if you have status you'll get a great view of the strip or airport and free internet.

The location is convenient across from Aria etc by a walkway and next door to Paris. Downstairs there are plenty of shops and restaurants (Miracle Mile) and even a Casino (Planet Hollywood) connected to the mall. I liked the fact that you didn't have to walk through a smoky casino to get to get everywhere. And the pool is pretty good for a mid range property although I was there mid-week so it may be crowded on weekends (open to hotel guests only).

HGV Elara

A couple more. This is the 1 bedroom suite which is overkill for one person but at ~$150 per night it was a pretty good deal.

IMHO as solo traveller only place to stay is in those fabulously tacky GO rooms at Flamingo - god I love them.

Right in the middle of the strip - walking distance to everywhere - close your eyes and you can almost feel Frank, Deano and Sammy leaning on the back bar laughing it up - gotta love the Flamingo.

Note that in Las Vegas, probably more than most places, prices vary massively depending on demand. When there is a big conference in town, or weekends, the prices sky-rocket. But mid-week during a low-demand period, great rates can be found. And of course it varies between properties depending on events and conferences etc. So all you can do is shop around and see what bargains are available for the specific dates will be there.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it and they took great care of you.

Love Virtuoso!

What is the Virtuoso membership?

What is the Virtuoso membership?

It's an American Consortia...it's an invitation only network for the world's top travel advisors/agents, most of whom specialize in higher end travel.

Part of the membership brings access to their Preferred Hotel Program (very similar to AMEX Centurion Hotel program) which offers the clients of Virtuoso agents complimentary upgrades and amenities at over 900 hotels/resorts worldwide, Bellagio happens to be one of them.

It's not as well known here as it is in the US as its very US centric, but there's around 18-20 Virtuoso agencies in Australia now.

I stayed at Vdara suites in April. It is a non-gambling/non-smoking hotel with a kitchen so you can cook your won meals.

It is at the back of the Bellagio and you can walk through from the dancing fountains.

Worth a look if you can get a good price. I actually booked through Qantas and was happy with the price.

That's not too bad, it can take 10 mins to walk to your room at Bellagio depending on where your room is

I ended up booking HGV Elara for $140 a night on Fri and Sat nights. Thanks for the tips.
