It does work both ways

Really? The one or two times JQ has stuffed me around. I've just asked to be moved to an acceptable QF flight. They response was no, but we will process a full refund.

It was actually a bit more complex than that, they offered me a JQ flight the following morning. I said that would be fine provided JQ pay for my hotel. Then the refund was offered.

ive just said yes it does.... but if you cant be bothered calling and talking to them then you will never find out for yourself....

It's never happened to me, and that includes the times I have rung up and spoken to a real person...

The offer has always been another JQ flight (sometimes not even on the same day) or a refund.

In the end though, it was still a win win. That "double" FF points and "double" SC was a good surprise.
Ps, I did ring up to say I wasn't happy, and couldn't take the next days flight, as I had to work, and that the next days first 6am flight from MEL - ADL wasn't shceduled to leave till 7.25am.
Granted that if I didn't have the funds to transfer $ around, I would have been stuck... which hotel near MEL has a room rate of $150? Ibis Budget probably. Aud$30 taxi fare would maybe go as far as Mickleham Road, or Gladstone Park.
But as mentioned, had to work the next day, if I had taken the next days flight, I would still have been late for work.

Sounds like I had an above average experience today.

Woke up this morning to a tripit notification that jq7 was delayed by 2.5 hours, causing me a misconnect in Sin. Rang them up but they new nothing yet as expected....
So booked a last minute on scoot as a replacement with onward connection. it's only a short holiday and couldn't be bothered with the stress of JQ. Soon after checked my email and they had sent an email through, asking me to contact them. Gave them a call, and Lo and behold they had rebooked us onto qf35, no input required from my end!
Far exceeded my low expectations.

So then rang up scoot 2 hours before departure, and was able to get the flight moved, for a cost of $0.

So ended up with a QF flight for $200 and another long weekend later in the year
