Last tune stuck in your head

After my OC-marathon, the theme song 'California', both the Phantom Planet and the Mates of State versions, is well and truly stuck in my head...

And kudos to the OC's music director for propelling so many great indie bands into the limelight. Except they technically cease being indie when that happens and consequently lose 99% of their 'i don't do commercial music' snob market.

I'm sure the members of such bands don't mind the $$$$'s ... :p

Anything from v Spy v Spy at the moment. IMHO, one of the best home grown bands of the 1980's.

Strangely, I was playing Kelly Clarkson on my iPod this morning in the car on the way to work and enjoyed it.

Can't agree more, very much under rated. Another band in the same vein, although Kiwi and more contemporary are Shihad, nothing like a bit of Rock escapism.

Finally, someone else with musical taste :). Between the Spies, Midnight Oil, REM, The Church and Hoodoo Gurus, my years in the 80's were musically fantastic.

In the spirit of Lindsay's last post, my new LTSIYH is "Love Song" by Sumple Meends, from the 80's classic Sons & Fascination / Sister Feelings Call. Even the guy at Red Eye was saying "what a classic..." as I bought it:cool:

I'm loving some of the Red Jezebel stuff at the moment. They're a Perth local band and I first saw them as the opening act for something or other I'd gone to see at Amplifier. Whatever it was I'd gone to see wasn't very good or memorable, but Red Jezebel was.

Gloomy Sunday

Sarah Brightman

Guess it had something to do with being away from my family on Sunday in MNL!

Can't recall the circumstances of discovery, but continuing on the 80s theme from a few posts ago I came upon Icehouse's "Crazy" on youtube a month or so ago. An excellent (and I mean really good) live version taken (I think) from UK top of the pops. Played it a few times and now I find it's no longer there. :(

"Save Tonight" - Eagle Eye Cherry.

I'm watching ch 10 and it just came on with an ad. I've always liked the song. :)

Millencolin - Detox

It's been getting a lot of airtime on TripleJ lately.

Pointer Sisters - Neutron Dance

....thanks to a mate whose facebook status reads "I'm just burning doing the neutron dance"

But what is really bothering me is that I somehow know all of the words....damn! I was only 8 years old when it was released! I blame my parents!

Quite appropriate: Better Than .. John Butler Trio:)

That stupid theme song from the 80's TV show, Greatest American Hero - Believe it or not I'm walking on air...

I worked with a sales rep on Tuesday who had a passion for Christian music, Uhhhhhg, I had to head back to my hotel, put on my iPod and head to gym and cleanse my soul with some Pixies, Urge Overkill, and Nick Cave.
