Lastest Flybuys - Velocity Transfer promotion [share in 10m points]

I've just transferred over my balance, had a load sitting there and thought I might as well give it a go, also done it in 2k transfers so will see what it brings in.

Edit:

Was nice to see that the transfer was automatic, after i'd finished transferring the points, I checked the velocity balance and they were all there.

Any idea when the bonus points should post if you get any?

From what i've read elsewhere from previous deals (Ozbargain i think it was? not sure), it's between 2-4 weeks from contest end date.
We'll see soon enough....

I can't imagine this will yield more than the standard 15% bonus. I am also not sure we will get more by transferring lots of 2000 points rather than one big block of points. I think the Ts and Cs are just badly worded and mean to say that the more points we transfer, the bigger our share of the pool. Interesting to note that entries into the draw are based on number of points, not number of transactions.

However, this is definitely not what they say. Their advertising blurb says "The more times you transfer, the bigger your share", not "the more points you transfer ..." and this is backed up by the T&C:

Under Entry: "Each separate transfer from the member’s flybuys account to the member’s Velocity Frequent Flyer account is equal to one entry into the minor prize Promotion, with a minimum transfer requirement of 2,000 points per transfer."
Under Drawing Winners: "All entrants will win a share of 10 million Velocity Points (a Minor Winner). Each eligible entry will receive an equal share. If an Entrant has multiple entries, they receive an equal share for each entry."

If they did otherwise, I expect they would be in all kinds of legal strife.

I expect we would. We will no doubt discuss the amount awarded here and if it's according to points transferred rather than number of transfers, I'm sure some of us would report this to the relevant authorities.

My bad for setting this hare running. I read the advert but not the Ts and Cs. They are not ambiguous, they stipulate a maximum of 69 entries for the minor prize and 138000 entries for the major prize.

I've processed 10x transfers of 2k points, fingers crossed for a good haul.

Still plenty of FB points in the kitty, but I'll play it safe and wait for the next 15% (or higher!) transfer offer to guarantee value.

Be interesting to see if they claw it back, as it's about 10x what I would have expected the bonus to be. Landed 3x for me off the one transfer...

I got a few of them late yesterday, I'm a bit confused by the amount of points & the amount of times I received them, got x4 plus x3 pooled from my partner. obviously 2509 points. my partner doesn't transfer any points.
happy with it, just not clear on why & details.
entered both the flybuys & the book a flight & get share of 25Million points, don't know which is which.
I suspect an email will following from velocity shortly.
