Latest information about 28 degrees card

Yes you’re correct not sure where I got that from. Though my iPhone did not detect or connect to any Flexiroam network provider in Singapore.
It’s suppose to roam on Singtel. Just need to make sure one of these plans is selected. I believe the freebie MC pack is covered by the 150+.

I don’t know flexiroam but presume on a 7 week upcoming trip I could use it for the first 15 days free then slip over to Optus $5 day or eSIM I’ve used successfully a few times Ubigi?
Flexiroam have regular promos for Global packs - usually around 80% off - which makes them reasonable value. The 8.8 (8 Aug) 80% sale just finished but expect a 9.9 next month. There’s usually a min data bundle threshold for the promo code eg 5GB, but that can be for 6 mths. Also, it doesn’t have to start immediately. You get 6 mths to activate.

I’m assuming we could get into a rolling 5GB / 6mth plan with top ups purchased during the monthly Sales!

Thanks I’ll watch on 9.9 as that’s just before we leave. I’d happily give them a try. I think Ubigi is a bit less competitive once you convert US $$. But $5 a day Optus adds up for two of us over a long trip, although I’m fine with it for a fortnight.

Has anyone used the complimentary 3GB / 15d Flexiroam eSIM option recently?

The Flexiroam Help page says you can activate it later (up to 6 mths) but when I click through to select the eSIM starter pack it shows “Instant activation”. It’s not clear if that’s just saying you’ll be good to go immediately (once you get the confirmation email) or if the 15d clock starts ticking immediately?
Yes, in June
I am an existing Flexiroam user. I followed the instructions for the offer to set it up, I didnt activate it immediately, it worked. I dont remember anything about it, was just simple.

Thanks. Yes it ought to be simple but others had mentioned immediate activation so I held off!

I’ll probably still hold off applying until the day I fly (leaving late in the evening).

Getting into the weeds I need to check If 15days is from activation or based on GMT days?

Yesterday I received an email with $50 cash back offer with AirBnB. Anyone know if it’s a general offer or targeted?

I can only see a general Booking.com (7.5% cash back) offer online.

Have received the same email offer this morning, spend >$400 AUD in a single Airbnb transaction, by 23/8/23 for a $50 cashback limited to one transaction. (doesn't state whether thats one transaction per account or one per card, given secondary cardholders have a different CC number). Have used the 28 degrees this morning to make the secondary payment on one of our future Airbnb bookings that was slightly greater than $400 AUD

Yeah, SYD+1 received the email moments after I posted the question.

We’re going to prepay two bookings that are due just after the 23rd!

Oh, just received a QF card offer: earn 2000 pts / spend $400+ on AirBnB. My 28° CC is linked already, so should be able to double dip if the net amount is still $400+!

Double dip worked nicely for this one!

Yes, I can also confirm that the freebie Flexiroam 3GB / 15d plan doesn’t activate immediately (if you hold off installing the eSIM until it’s needed).

I held off ordering the plan prior to flying tonight based on some other comments and concerns flagged upthread. So today, waited until after midnight GMT (seemed like a sensible thing to do?) and then went through the in-app process to order the eSIM but I stopped at the install eSIM step and will do that before boarding my flight. The app (iOS version) now shows that plan with a banner to activate before 31 Dec 23 (probably a function of an annual offer otherwise you should get 6mths to activate).

I’ve also received an email reminding me to install and activate the eSIM - same as you’d expect purchasing a plan.

Both SYD+1 and I received similar but different Webjet e-Gift offers. Spend $2000 AUD equivalent for $150 voucher (me) or $3000 for a $250 voucher. Register by 18 Feb, spend between 01 Dec 22 and 28 Feb 23. There could be other variations on this?

Annoying that it’s mid / late Jan already but I’ve already meet my spend threshold….

Oh, there’s also the chance to win a trip to Hawaii thrown in but whoever wins those sorts of things…?
Hi, did you ever receive this gift card? I received the same offer, met the spend requirements and didn't receive the giftcard. Latitude are passing the buck saying Webjet are responsible to provide this. Just hoping you might be able to confirm if you received this. Cheers

Yes, months ago. Used them to buy some flights. We also had an AMEX cash back offer for Webjet at the time!

Trying to pay a deposit with a US accommodation provider I've used my 28 Degrees card with before. They emailed me to say the transaction was declined, and almost simultaneously I received an SMS from Latitude checking whether the transaction was genuine. Replied yes, and received automated response "thank you for confirming this transaction was approved, you can continue to use your card". Emailed the accommodation provider a few minutes later and said should be OK to try again. Nope, declined.

Latitude's website says their phone lines are available 24/7 for "declined transactions and suspected fraudulent activity". No they're not. Went right through the automated menu process, providing all my details, "transferring you to a consultant" then ... "you have called outside our operating hours". FFS. Will have to call them first thing tomorrow.

I just got a message from Latitude today to ask if I had made a purchase on Onlyfans ( definitely not!)

So then they rang me from the fraud squad. I Tries the general number first and got the called outside our operating hours message.

I then rang them back from their phone call, you have to be so cautious to who you are speaking to and giving information to. I rarely use this card whilst in Australia, but I have been using it to do some accommodation bookings for next year on booking.com, but using the free cancel rates and haven't paid anything yet.

I didn't want to use my main card for the risk. So glad I didn't.

So now they have to send a dispute about the only fans transaction . They said it could take up to 21 days but would contact me with the outcome. Card is blocked and cancelled and a new one will be sent.

But now I don't know how I will resolve all the bookings with the old card number. I don't want them to be cancelled.

You will be given a new card,, and the old one cancelled. When you get the new card, you can update the credit card details on booking.com with the new number. Recently someone went on an eating spree at KFC using my card. :( Disputed and card cancelled. Updated my direct debits with new card details. Took about 2. 5 weeks for the KFC spend to be refunded. ....

Thanks @kpc , for this information. Glad it can be easily fixed up on the booking.com site.
I’m just glad it isn’t my main card. I have a lot of Christmas shopping to do this week!
