I can't wait for the day that the spammers used quantas in their email address or in the icon as their deliberate mistake - that will definitely make me

Thanks for the heads up Red Roo.

Thanks for your sarcasm. I Can only work within the constrains of your post.

You know exactly what I meant. No need to reply to every post you dont think looks right.

I can receive an email from Qantas but it is not really Qantas. I dont really know that it is spam unless I look at every possible detail of every single email I email receive or it is a really poor attempt.

So as far as I am concerned the email is from Qantas. Which then leads to the statement I am foolish to believe every email I receive from Qantas is genuine.

But I am sure you knew all that anyway.

Well it could be legitimate, as qantas do own quantas.com.au. Something tells me however they will never use it...

They use it to redirect to qantas.com.au.

Meanwhile, off pedantry and on the topic, the salutation 'Dear esteemed customer' is a strong hint that the email is phishing, not Quantas;)

Cheers skip

Did anyone receive an email from Qantas this morning, from the address [email protected] with the subject "Secure Flight Information Required"?

I received two, one after the other, pointing out I have a flight to the US soon and need to complete the secure flight info. It's addressed to me by name. However, I'm not flyiing to the US soon - not for several months, not on a Qantas-issued ticket and not a Qantas-operated flight.

That is actually not spam. I have started this thread a few years back. I suspect "qetitr" stands for Qantas e-ticket itinerary and is related to flights created from vouchers where a dummy booking is created flying from/to a couple of airports in the USA. After you use the voucher there are obviously traces of the USA dummy booking still in the booking reference and it sends reminders.

I had 3-4 reminder emails on that original booking and now it has started for another booking.

Both mrsdrron and I have had spam from frequent_flyer.com.au today to update our QF account info.I must be important as I got 3 of them.
