Wondering if anyone else is being aggravated by the changes to the check-in arrangements at LST? They have introduced self serve kiosks which is fair enough but they are also intending to abolish all the manned counters, including priority. I do not think I have encountered any airport in Australia where a business class flyer is expected to fight the LCC customers in order to check-in.

Ask how wheel chair assisted passengers are going to be accommodated ?
Some people actually do need assistance when wandering
Fred
Not only people in wheel chairs. People who are not particularly technology capable, or left their glasses at home. There's always helpful staff buzzing around but it's humiliating to have to ask for help.
From my observations to date, I would also say that the space allowed for the kiosks is not sufficient for any sort of social distancing. Security is bad enough but one can generally stand back a bit . A bunch of kiosks that are shared between airlines means that everyone is scrumming in together. Fine if you don't care but there should be options.

Just noticed thread has been moved to Qantas Frequent Flyer. Strange, I was flying Virgin when I encountered this. It's Virgin staff I have stared down to get checked in by the normal method and it's Virgin I have complained to.
I discovered today that it's the airport who's behind this and have now complained directly to the airport. Next stop will be tourism minister.

Did you have QF in the title?
Original title was "Launceston Airport Check in". Not a "Q" to be seen!
Mind you, as it appears to be an airport issue, it's relevant to Qantas as well. If I dusted off my P1 hat, booked J out of LST and had to elbow through the Jetstar PAX just to get bag tags prior to presenting myself at a counter so they could deign to take my luggage, I think I'd be just as unhappy.
